Week 3 - Day 2 The Inhumanity of Humanity

Today's Treasure: "I will praise you forever for what you have done; in your name I will hope, for your name is good. I will praise you in the presence of your saints" Psalms 32:9

Principal Question:

How did the depravity of Saul's heart become evident?

The question was posed
"When was the last time you were stunned by the depravity of humanity?"

Daily news always is stunning! I saw on the news today a story of a man who chose not to buckle his 16 mth old in a carseat or seatbelt in the back seat, but did buckle up his case of beer in the front seat! That is depravity! Really shows how little life is valued. Another circumstance I recently witnessed was a proclaiming Christian mom who chose to blame another Christian mom because of a choice the first mom's child made. Depravity comes in many forms. When displayed in the Christian community, it also gives non Christians a bad taste for those of us who proclaim Christ as our Savior.

I see the depravity of humanity every time I go to work. It is heart breaking. I have endless examples of people putting great value on themselves, and little to no value on others, often it is their own children that they are hurting. I find myself having lots of conversations with God asking him to help me to be kind to these people. I have often had to leave a room to gather myself before going back to continue care. I love my job, but it is a very difficult job. My nursing skills are the easiest part, its the emotional stress that I carry that gets to me. When I get home my poor husband usually has to hear me vent for the first hour or so, just to get it off of my mind. I like to think that nothing would suprise me anymore, but it does.
Thinking about all of this reminds me of the book of Revelation after all of the plagues and complete destruction of the earth, God returns and says "Its is done". Wow! He is going to make all things new. He is in control. God is going to win the battle over evil!

I see depravity here at the primary school where I work. There is one dad that comes to my mind immediately when I think of depravity. He brings his little girl to school late often, she is very dirty, and a very sad little girl. The dad is filthy, has no job and gives me the creeps in a major way. I know enough about him to make my skin crawl. I always wonder what that little girl has to go through at home. Probably more before breakfast than I do in my whole life time. I have such a hard time showing Christ's love to him, I just fight myself everytime he speaks to me. The depravity of mankind is bad, but when you involve innocent littl children, it is even worse. I can't imagine how badly it hurts God to look down and see all the little children going through these horrible things.
